Really Great Reading LLC (“RGR”) is committed to protecting the privacy of our customers and visitors. We have prepared this Privacy Policy to define our practices regarding the collection and usage of data that may be collected through the use of our application. By using our site and application you consent to the processing of personal data in accordance with this Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions. The use of personal information will be limited to the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Any data collected from students or teachers will only be used in the context of the InferCabulary application. We do not use student, teacher, or parent data for marketing purposes.
What personal information do we collect from our customers?
All information stored in our system will be solely utilized for the purposes of supporting learning for students. The following data is collected in our system:
- Email Addresses
- Used only for account access. We will never use email addresses in our system for marketing or advertising.
- Names
- Used to identify students within a classroom
- Grade Levels
- Used to provide the appropriate word difficulty for a given student
- School Names
- Classroom Assignments
- Student Progress Data (i.e. how a student has interacted with the data within the system)
When do we collect information?
Initial information (e.g. email, name) will be collected as a part of the account setup for a customer. This can be accomplished through self-service or through assistance from our team.
Progress data will be collected as students interact with the system. The InferCabulary application uses an adaptive learning method that uses past student progress to help define the user experience. For example, if a student has demonstrated mastery of a given word we will not keep showing them the word continually.
How do we use your information?
We use customer information for educational purposes only. This means we utilize the data to provide a customized user experience for each individual customer. We do not use customer information for marketing or advertising purposes.
How do we protect your information?
We protect your confidential information using OWASP compliant security practices. This includes administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to prevent unauthorized access, disclose and use of data stored within the system. On August 1st of each year, we purge all student data for accounts/licenses that have not been accessed for 36 months including any PII that resides in the system. Additionally, at the request of a customer, we will destroy any and all data stored in our system that pertains to their institution/district/school/user (including teachers and students).
We conduct regular reviews of security practices in order to maintain a vigilant security posture. This includes risk assessments, log reviews, and policy updates.
In the event of a security or privacy incident, Communication Apptitude agrees to notify all affected parties within 24 hours of the identification of the incident.
Do we use ‘cookies’?
Yes. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the site’s or service provider’s systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. We use cookies to help us compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future.
You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser settings. Since browser is a little different, look at your browser’s help menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies.
If you turn cookies off, it will not affect your user experience.
Third-party disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your Personally Identifiable Information.

We do not include or offer third-party products or services on our website.
Google Analytics
We utilize Google Analytics to help us understand traffic patterns (e.g. when users are on the site) so that we can provide a high-quality customer experience. The data sent to Google Analytics does not contain Personally Identifiable Information (PII). You may opt out of Google Analytics by using the Google Analytics Opt Out browser add-on.
COPPA
We are required under Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) to obtain verifiable parental consent in order to collect and use personal information pertaining to children. COPPA allows a child’s school to obtain consent from the students who are a part of the school.
For a student to use our services, they must obtain an account from their school. In order for a school to provide an account, they must
- consent to the collection and use of student data in accordance with this Privacy Policy
- consent that the student’s activities are subject to our Terms and Conditions
If a parent wishes to prohibit a child from using our system, they may do so by requesting account deletion through their school. Schools will have the ability to delete students from our system. Schools also may request data deletion for some or all of the data for their school in our system. See the Terms and Conditions for more information on our data deletion practices.
